“LISTENING TO GOD!”

 “There are many ways of discovering exactly what GOD is “trying” to say to us”!

This sentence seems to indicate that humanity holds the “power” of discovering “what we need to hear” and PRECISELY “when we need to hear” it???  

We are required to HEAR from our CREATOR, but first we need to be in “position” where we are able to “TRANSLATE” or interpret whether what we are listening to is FROM GOD or not!  For this Brain Damaged being, LISTENING to GOD needs to be achieved when NOTHING ELSE is permitted to interrupt what HE is SAYING to me. 

One recent morning I awakened just after 3AM and couldn’t get back to sleep.  I got up and went to my chair and began to QUIETLY and SOBERLY “LISTENING TO GOD” and what HE WAS SAYING to me!  I even typed into the search engine on my computer “LISTENING TO GOD” and some results are listed below:

“LISTENING TO GOD is an essential part of spiritual growth.”

“Prayer is a two-way conversation; it’s important to SPEND TIME LISTENING as well as speaking.”

In my almost fifty years of being a BELIEVER, I have seemingly ALWAYS lived life “on the run”!  Surely our CREATOR GOD was CAPABLE of divinely communicating and transforming me WITHOUT me SLOWING DOWN my life and LISTENING to HIM???

GOD is CAPABLE, but HIS WORD is replete with instances where we are instructed to LET GO and YIELD to HIS LEADERSHIP in our lives.  GOD ALMIGHTY didn’t need our assistance in CREATING man, and HE doesn’t need our assistance in SUSTAINING our lives!!!  GOD isn’t interested in “making us successful” in “this world”, rather HE wants us to be used by HIM to prepare others to fulfill their CALLING for HIS GLORY!!!

HE displayed HIS SOVEREIGNTY to me in 2007 through HIS MAJESTIC PLAN when HE caused a tiny blood vessel in my brain to begin leaking.  After 31 days of being hospitalized (17 of those days IN A COMA!) GOD displayed to this formerly “too busy” man that HE didn’t require ANYTHING from me but to “Fear GOD and keep HIS commandments, for this is THE WHOLE DUTY OF MAN.

 

In the very next verse, and the FINAL verse of Ecclesiastes, IT IS WRITTEN, “For GOD WILL BRING EVERY DEED INTO JUDGEMENT, WITH EVERY SECRET THING, WHETHER GOOD OR EVIL.”  

“LISTENING TO GOD” doesn’t have anything to do with our physical ears being able to contemplate words heard with our physical bodies!  “LISTENING TO GOD” requires us to BE CHOSEN!!!  Are you “LISTENING TO GOD”???
