“ASK IN PRAYER!”

 Mark 11:20-25                    (ESV)

The Lesson from the Withered Fig Tree

“[20] As they passed by IN THE MORNING, they saw the fig tree withered away “TO ITS ROOTS”. [21] And Peter remembered and said to HIM, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered.” [22] And JESUS ANSWERED, “HAVE FAITH IN GOD.” [23] Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and DOES NOT DOUBT IN HIS HEART, but believes that what he says will come to pass, IT WILL BE DONE FOR HIM. [24] Therefore I tell you, whatever you “ASK IN PRAYER”, BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED IT, and IT WILL BE YOURS. [25] And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your FATHER also WHO is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.””

Once again I am LED to expound upon the passage of Scripture above, simply because it is still speaking to me!  FAR TOO OFTEN I am in such of a FAST PACED environment that I do not take the time to HEAR what GOD is trying to SAY to me!  It is probably my biggest weakness in my CHRISTIAN walk!!!

This morning the topic is “ASK IN PRAYER”! My feeble self was trying to place BELIVE THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED IT in front of “ASK IN PRAYER” in an effort to make the devotional less time consuming???  But what else could I possibly write about that would be more USEFUL than to “ASK IN PRAYER” about items placed on my heart by OUR CREATOR???  ALMIGHTY GOD IS IN CONTROL and HE doesn’t require ANYTHING extra to HEAR from us, BUT I NEED TO SLOW DOWN TO ALLOW MY BRAIN DAMAGED mind to formulate what I need to enunciate to HIM!!

GOD KNOWS OUR THOUGHTS!  1 Corinthians 2:11 says “For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also NO ONE comprehends the THOUGHTS of GOD EXCEPT THE SPIRIT OF GOD”.  Our supposed “need for speed” IS NOT of THE LORD!  A seventeen day coma should have made that impression on me!!

Our prayers are HEARD by the CREATOR OF THE WORLD, so HE has the ability to give us what we ask!  But do we have the SPIRITUAL MATURITY to ask what we need???

FATHER IN HEAVEN, cause me to “let go of this world” and BE STILL and hear YOUR SPIRIT!  Make me SLOW DOWN and “ASK IN PRAYER” so that I CAN HEAR FROM YOU!!!
