“STRONG DELUSION!”

2 Thessalonians 2:5-12                         (ESV)

“5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?

6 And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time.

7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way.

8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the LORD JESUS will kill with the breath of HIS mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of HIS coming.

9 The coming of the LAWLESS one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders,

10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the TRUTH and so be saved.

11 Therefore GOD sends them a “STRONG DELUSION”, so that they may believe what is false,

12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the TRUTH but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

Observing so much LAWLESS activity flourishing in the society of “this world” is down right despicable.  However, we must Believe that when JESUS said in John 18:36 “MY KINGDOM is not of THIS WORLD....” HE was talking about Heaven, not anything about “this world”.  As long as “this world” is run by “the prince of this world” (1 John 5:19), he will continue to deceive folks who have been blinded by him.  He has been a murderer and a liar since the beginning (John 8:44) and “does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him”!  JESUS said it is the natural response for the enemy to LIE, “because he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies”!

Although it may dismay, even shock us, we should KNOW that times are going get a LOT worse before they get better!  And by getting better I am talking about the Second Coming of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.  We Believers SHOULD know this, but we constantly have to remind ourselves, THROUGH DILIGENT STUDYING OF SCRIPTURE, that the JUDGEMENT DAY is coming!  The enemy, and all who fail to recognize JESUS as the SON OF GOD, will be cast into the lake of fire that is NEVER quenched!  Money, fame, social standing, success in the business world, none of these things will matter.  

2 Thessalonians 2:11 says “Therefore GOD sends them a “STRONG DELUSION”, so that they may believe what is false”.  That they will believe what is false takes into account that they may actually believe that they are absolutely correct in their decisions, but the price they will be required to pay for being wrong will be unimaginable.  Eternity with the WRATH of ALMIGHTY GOD being poured out on you cannot be described.  John 3:36 SHOULD BE one of the most feared verses in Scripture.  It reads “Whoever believes in the SON has eternal life; whoever does not obey the SON shall not see life, BUT THE WRATH OF GOD REMAINS ON HIM.”  It doesn’t read that all who live a good life and put a few dollars in the collection plate at church will get off a little easier, “BUT THE WRATH OF GOD REMAINS ON HIM”!!

There is NOTHING that I can do, nor anyone else can do, to help you into Heaven.  Even though the enemy has sent a “STRONG DELUSION” won’t alleviate the punishment received by those deceived.  GOD can’t fellowship sin, as was witnessed by those on earth when JESUS was crucified (Mark 16:33) when the entire earth went dark AT NOON, and was prophesied in Amos 8:9.  Making SURE that I am IN THE TRUTH is paramount in my life.  Having the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSES SHOWER HIS WRATH UPON ME doesn’t intrigue me in the least.  To be sent a “STRONG DELUSION” by ALMIGHTY GOD isn’t something that anyone should be relishing.  Are you being sent a “STRONG DELUSION”?  Do you recognize TRUTH???
