“I WILL GET GLORY!”

Exodus 14:4                                                            (ESV)

“And I WILL harden Pharaoh's heart, and HE WILL pursue them, and “I WILL GET GLORY” over Pharaoh and all his host, and the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD." And THEY DID SO.”

Exodus 14:8

“And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the people of Israel while the people of Israel were going out defiantly.”

Exodus 14:10

“When Pharaoh drew near, the people of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they feared greatly. And the people of Israel cried out to the LORD.”

Exodus 14:26-28

“26 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the water may come back upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen."

27 So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its normal course when the morning appeared. And as the Egyptians fled into it, the LORD threw the Egyptians into the midst of the sea.

28 The waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen; of all the host of Pharaoh that had followed them into the sea, not one of them remained.”

Recently I wrote about GOD telling Moses and the Children of Israel that YOU SHALL ENCAMP by the Red Sea.  Some scholars say that they had to WAIT a week.  What were they WAITING for though?  They couldn’t have known that the Egyptians were coming after them.  A week of sitting with the Red Sea in front of you, mountain ranges on either side of you, and knowing that ALMIGHTY GOD had directed you to this spot had to cause some anxiety, to say the least!

Anxiety is most often NOT understanding what GOD is going to do, or when HE is going to act, or how HE is going to accomplish that which HE has promised that HE WILL DO!   FAITH is the antithesis of anxiety, for when one lives the fact that GOD IS IN CONTROL it is difficult to be anxious.  GOD told Moses and the Children of Israel that “”I WILL GET GLORY” over Pharaoh and all his host, and the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD." And THEY DID SO.”  FAITH would tell us that GOD was going to make sure that HE GOT GLORY over Pharaoh and the Egyptians.  Anxiety would cause the Israelites to “fear greatly” (Exodus 14:10)!  

In hindsight, it isn’t hard to Believe GOD delivered on HIS Promise.  But with the mightiest army known to mankind at his behest, Pharaoh’s heart WAS hardened, Pharaoh DID pursue the Israelites, and just like GOD said, “I WILL GET GLORY” over Pharaoh and all his host.  

When GOD says that HE will do something, it WILL happen!  HE IS COMING BACK!  Do NOT be deceived!  That day HE will once again be saying “I WILL GET GLORY”!!!
