"14 But THANKS BE TO GOD, who in CHRIST always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of HIM everywhere.
15 For we are the aroma of CHRIST to GOD among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing,
16 to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. "WHO IS SUFFICIENT" for these things?
17 For we are not, like so many, peddlers of GOD's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by GOD, in the sight of GOD we speak IN CHRIST."
While JESUS was physically here on earth HE had to CONSTANTLY overcome the "tradition of the elders" (Matthew 15:2)! The "scribes and Pharisees" were the educated of the time and were forever trying to fit JESUS and GOD into THEIR pre-supposed box. JESUS is, was, and forever will be GOD in flesh and HE knew far better than the "scribes and Pharisees" what GOD expects of us!!
The Apostle Paul knew who he was....IN CHRIST! The enemy desires to keep us in a defeated mindset, thinking about how imperfect and selfish we are. But we are valuable enough to JESUS that HE came to earth to suffer ridicule from humans and separation and rejection from the FATHER just to provide salvation for us! The enemy wants to focus on a lie because he is the father of lies (John 8:44) and the TRUTH (John 14:6) defeated him at Calvary!
"WHO IS SUFFICIENT"??? Anyone who is bought by the blood shed by the Son of GOD, shamefully mocked and debased by "this world", on Calvary's cross for the entire world to see can be SUFFICIENT! The Apostle Paul knew the JESUS CHRIST "always" leads us in triumphal procession , but the enemy wants us focusing on JESUS hanging on a cross! We should wear medallions of an empty tomb instead of a crucified Savior! HE has overcome death, hell, and the grave!
"WHO IS SUFFICIENT"? I AM SUFFICIENT! Because JESUS now lives in me (Romans 8:11; Galatians 2:20; 1 Corinthians 3:16....) I am FREE! A pauper can approach THE THRONE because THE KING granted me access to that THRONE. The "scribes and Pharisees" can keep their "tradition of the elders", for JESUS has provided me a robe and crown! "WHO IS SUFFICIENT" for these things? Because of what JESUS did for me, I AM SUFFICIENT!!!
