“HE PREDESTINED US!”

 Ephesians 1:3-6                           (ESV)

“3 Blessed be the GOD and FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, WHO has blessed us in CHRIST with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,

4 even as HE CHOSE US IN HIM BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD, that we should be HOLY AND BLAMELESS before HIM. In love

5 “HE PREDESTINED US” for adoption to HIMSELF as sons through JESUS CHRIST, ACCORDING TO THE PURPOSE OF HIS WILL,

6 to the praise of HIS GLORIOUS GRACE, with which HE has blessed us in the Beloved.”

It can be very easy to allow our minds to be swayed into believing that “we are doomed”, that we are in a catastrophic situation with certain peril just around the corner!  John 10:10 reminds us that “the enemy” ONLY comes to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY!  It is imperative that we REMEMBER who GOD says we are, and not what we are told by those who are being controlled by satan, like Peter was in Matthew 16:23.  

“HE CHOSE US” IN HIM BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD, that we should be HOLY AND BLAMELESS before HIM. In love HE PREDESTINED US for adoption to HIMSELF as sons through JESUS CHRIST, ACCORDING TO THE PURPOSE OF HIS WILL, to the praise of HIS GLORIOUS GRACE, with which HE has blessed us in the Beloved.”  HE PREDESTINED us means HE has a Plan, and even though we might experience some “perilous” times, HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US OR FORSAKE US!  

Remembering this PROMISE OF GOD isn’t easy.  Satan wants us to believe that since he is the god of this world that everything is under his authority.  But Colossians 1:16-17 says “For by HIM (JESUS) ALL THINGS all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-ALL THINGS were created through HIM AND FOR HIM.  And HE is before ALL THINGS, and in HIM ALL THINGS hold together”!!!  

It needs to be plastered on my heart and mind that JESUS holds ALL THINGS together, even when the enemy is rattling his weapons!  Not only has JESUS paid our sin debt, HE HAS A PLAN to Glorify HIS NAME!  “HE PREDESTINED US” to be a part of that Plan, and we must remember that HE IS IN CONTROL, NOT US!!!
