“SET YOUR MINDS!”

Colossians 3:1-4                                 (ESV)

“1 If then you have been raised with CHRIST, seek the things that are above, where CHRIST is, seated at the right hand of GOD.

2 “SET YOUR MINDS” on things that are above, NOT on things that are on earth.

3 For you have died, and YOUR LIFE IS HIDDEN WITH CHRIST IN GOD.

4 When CHRIST WHO is your LIFE appears, then you also will appear with HIM in glory.

Recently my writings were based on Colossians 3:1-11 and entitled CHRIST IS ALL, AND IN ALL.  Since posting that message I have seen many people posting about being lonely, losing a spouse, having all sorts of needs that need to be met.  My heart wants to financially help with each need, but my wallet doesn’t have the means of helping them all.

Until our EYES are opened to SEE that our satisfaction and fulfillment can only come from a desire to more FULLY KNOW JESUS and HIS 

Providence, we will continue to be swayed and moved by circumstances.  One of my best friends watched his spouse exit this world less than 18 months ago.  He loved his wife immensely.  But his joy was never seen to be affected as he KNEW that his wife was now in the presence of JESUS! 

This week another friend experienced the same thing.  My heart is greatly saddened by the circumstances he finds himself in.  But his wife left this world to enter into the Presence of her Savior, a place I will one day be called to enter!  

The easiest thing we can do is throw a few dollars at a problem and go ahead with our active lives.  The answer is never money, we are deceived if we think it is.  Mark 4:18-19 says “And others are the ones sown among thorns. They are those who hear the word, but the cares of the world and the DECEITFULNESS OF RICHES and the DESIRES FOR OTHER THINGS enter in and CHOKE THE WORD, and it proves unfruitful.”

On my prayer list, I have Colossians 3:2 “SET YOUR MINDS” on things that are above, not on things that are on earth."  Intentionally and Purposefully fix your thoughts on THINGS above!”  Especially in the dark, difficult times, we must Intentionally and Purposefully look to JESUS, to “SET YOUR MINDS” on HIM and allow our hearts to be healed by our CREATOR!!!
