“HIS OFFSPRING!”

Galatians 3:12-18                                                (ESV)
“12 But THE LAW is not of FAITH, rather "The one who does them shall live by them."
13 CHRIST REDEEMED US FROM THE CURSE of THE LAW by becoming a curse for us-for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree"-
14 so that in CHRIST JESUS the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised SPIRIT through FAITH.
15 To give a human example, brothers: even with a man-made covenant, no one annuls it or adds to it once it has been ratified.
16 Now THE PROMISES were made to Abraham and to “HIS OFFSPRING”. It does not say, "And to OFFSPRINGS”, referring to many, but referring to one, "And to YOUR OFFSPRING”, WHO IS CHRIST.
17 This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by GOD, so as to make the promise void.
18 For if the inheritance comes by THE LAW, it no longer comes by promise; but GOD gave it to Abraham BY A PROMISE.”

In my former years until only five years ago, or so, we subscribed to the local newspaper to keep up with the happenings in our community.  It was the first thing I would read after waking from sleep!  Only when my EYES were opened to how much my mind was being manipulated by the reporting of THEIR VIEW of things was I able to shake the habit developed over years of self-abuse!  That is correct, I was allowing the enemy to gain control of my thoughts without knowing what I was doing.

Since I began immersing my heart and mind in THE WORD, my thought patterns have taken a radically different path.  That doesn’t indicate that I “have arrived” and that I am where I need (or want!) to be, but I am definitely striving to follow HIS example in my remaining time in this world.

Living by THE LAW given to Moses was given to show us that we CANNOT measure up to what is required of us.  CHRIST REDEEMED US FROM THE CURSE of THE LAW, so Believing in HIM is my only HOPE!  Hebrews 11:6 says “And WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to please HIM, for whoever would draw near to GOD must believe that HE exists and that HE rewards those who seek HIM.”  It is IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE HIM outside of CHRIST!

Allowing social media, news media, children, GRANDCHILDREN, spouses, job, finances, or ANY OTHER BEING or things to dominate our time and life is violating the first commandment, “"You shall have no other gods before ME.” (Exodus 20:3).  Until we recognize this and elevate JESUS CHRIST where HE needs to be, we cannot become one of “HIS OFFSPRING”!  IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!
