“WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM!”

1 John 3:1-3                                               (ESV)

“1 See what kind of love the FATHER has given to us, that we should be called children of GOD; and so we are. The reason why THE WORLD DOES NOT KNOW US is that IT DID NOT KNOW HIM.

2 Beloved, we are GOD’S children now, and WHAT WE WILL BE has NOT YET APPEARED; but we know that when HE appears “WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM”, because we shall see HIM as HE is.

3 And everyone who thus hopes in HIM purifies himself as HE is pure.”

There are times when I need to let the Scriptures speak for themselves.  “WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM” doesn’t need a lot of discernment to HEAR what GOD is saying to us. One day, when we we are WHAT WE WILL BE, we will ALL be like JESUS.  

BUT, that ALL does not mean everyone who reads what is written, it includes we who are GOD’S children.  Don’t let “the enemy”, the master of deception, convince you otherwise.  The only ones who will experience eternal life are we who are BORN AGAIN, we who bear fruit for JESUS!

Everyone of us who therefore hopes in JESUS will work on purifying himself, because JESUS IS PURE!  That doesn’t mean that I will ever be PURE until I arrive in Heaven.  But when I get there, “WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM” and that is the greatest miracle of all!!!
