“I WILL GET GLORY!”

Exodus 14:1-4

“1 Then THE LORD SAID TO MOSES,

2 "TELL THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL TO TURN BACK AND ENCAMP in front of Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, in front of Baal-zephon; you shall encamp facing it, by the sea.

3 For Pharaoh will say of the people of Israel, 'They are wandering in the land; the wilderness has shut them in.'

4 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and he will pursue them, and “I WILL GET GLORY” over Pharaoh and all his host, and the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD." AND THEY DID SO.”

 

Suffice it to say to that if we were “in control” of things, we would TRY to avoid ALL turmoil and strife in our lives?  Most people try to take the path of least resistance, avoiding as much unpleasantness as possible in our short time in “this world”.  It’s just “human nature”!  

When we become a “new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17) the SPIRIT of ALMIGHTY GOD begins molding us into HIS PLAN for our lives, a process that that can be uncomfortable, even painful at times.  From personal experience, there are times when GOD has placed me in a position where the ONLY OPTION was to BEG for HIS DELIVERANCE!  

The Children of Israel were led by the SPIRIT OF GOD into “the wilderness” for a Purpose, and that Purpose was “I WILL GET GLORY”!  GOD directed them to the precise location where many believe the Red Sea had a ”land bridge”, it wasn’t as deep as the rest of the Sea.  There GOD orchestrated a scenario where “I WILL GET GLORY”, even though the Israelites were tremendously scared (Exodus 14:10)!  Surely they would have avoided this encounter had their wishes be taken into account.  But GOD is GOD, and they were NOT!

The Red Sea “swallowed up” the Egyptians (Exodus 14:28) while the Israelites “walked on dry ground through the sea” (Exodus 14:29).  Remember, GOD told Moses “precisely” where the Israelites were to encamp, AND WAIT, for HIM!  All in order for the Egyptians and the world to see that “I WILL GET GLORY”!  

There are times when we make choices and decisions that seem to make NO SENSE, in other words, WHAT WERE WE THINKING???  But GOD HAS A PURPOSE for our lives and we don’t have to understand where we are going, we just have to have FAITH that HE IS IN CONTROL and “I WILL GET GLORY”, especially over our weaknesses (2 Corinthians 12:10)!!!
