Exodus 14:13-18
“[13] And Moses said to the people, “”FEAR NOT, STAND FIRM”, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. [14] The LORD will fight for you, and YOU HAVE ONLY TO BE SILENT.”
[15] The LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? TELL THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL TO GO FORWARD. [16] Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground. [17] And I WILL harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they shall go in after them, and I WIL get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, his chariots, and his horsemen. [18] And the Egyptians shall know that I AM the LORD, WHEN I HAVE GOTTEN GLORY over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.””
These same verses were used recently in another devotional shared by this humble servant. Upon reading over it again, I SEE another point that GOD is using to mold me into HIS image.
Can you fathom in your terribly infinite mind the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSES being fearful or hesitant about anything? Colossians 1:16 tells us “For by HIM (JESUS) ALL THINGS WERE CREATED, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—ALL THINGS were created through HIM and for HIM.” Since JESUS created ALL THINGS, HE has POWER over them. In Acts 9:15-16 JESUS tells Ananias “But the LORD said to him (Ananias), “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of MINE to carry MY name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel. For I will show him how much HE MUST SUFFER for the sake of MY NAME.”
Now Saul was known to inflict much persecution on Believers in JESUS, so it is understandable that Ananias would be a might concerned about his orders. But just as on the banks of the Red Sea, JESUS was saying “FEAR NOT, STAND FIRM” to HIS CHOSEN.
Am I HIS CHOSEN? Are you HIS CHOSEN? Then why don’t I remember that HE IS IN CONTROL and I need to “FEAR NOT, STAND FIRM”! What we WANT has nothing to do with it. What we are called to do is “FEAR NOT, STAND FIRM” and allow JESUS to provide THE WAY!!!
