Decisions?

We live our lives in such a "Facebook" mentality!   Our attention spans are only about 30-45 seconds and then we have to move on to the next post (life activity)!  We don't want a CLOSE (meaningful) relationship with GOD because that would require too much of an investment of OUR time and resources.   We don't indicate we need HIS help or guidance in our lives, as we make decisions numerous times without seeking HIS direction.  

GOD is showing me that apart from HIM,  nothing really matters!   Mark 8:36-37 says "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"   Then why do I try to make the unimportant become as if it is everything?  GOD has already displayed to me that HE can intervene to ANY extent HE desires!   

I stand with Joshua!  He told the Israelites in Joshua 24:15, "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.!"

"Wish I had a fog horn! 45 miles per hour on the highway......really????

This was posted recently on my Facebook wall by a friend.  I have threatened MANY things while driving behind someone who isn't in as big of a hurry as I am.  Let me say, that if you're not going to lead, then follow!

With that being said, yesterday while driving I was driving the speed limit on a highway and a log truck was tailgating me.  I was actually driving about 8 MPH over the speed limit!   While in a driving rain, the tractor trailer passed me when there was an opening.  About 10 minutes later I passed the same truck when we got to the next city.   

My life's motto for about the last three years has been "BE STILL" and KNOW!  GOD continues to show me that HE allows "BOULDERS in my stream" to manage and direct that path HE desires from my existence.  My desire is to reduce the size of boulders required to channel my stream in HIS direction.  

Some people know what I speak of.  Matthew 11:15 say "15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."  Some people cannot hear the truth because they can't hear it.   LORD, help me to realize that others may not see or hear things I do!  

I am praying for you!

Sometimes things are right in front of my face and I STILL don't see them!   Today I was skimming over my Facebook page and I noticed a lady posting on a friends page about "Praying for _______".   

The lady doing the praying is am elected member of a state government.  She could have said she would get the Governor of the state to intervene, or introduce legislation to make sure the patient was well cared for, or done everything within her power to assure health was restored to the individual in question. 

There is NO substitute for taking time to intercede on someone's behalf with the Creator of the Universe.  In the year 2000, George W. Bush was coming to town to campaign for office of President of the United States of America.  My family was chosen to meet with him during his visit.  We found him to be extremely courteous and "down-home"!  

President G. W. Bush was still in office in July 2007 when my brain hemorrhaged.   Knowing him did not get me any better care or considerations.  My doctor did not write in my medical records "Patient is a friend of the President!"   No, instead my doctor wrote "However, he has had a remarkable recovery that could only be defined as a miracle from GOD"!

Folks, our HOPE is in HIM!   Psalms 38:15 (KJV) says "For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God."  It is far better to pray to GOD than to trust in a man!  

"CLUELESS!"

Everyone has things in their lives they are happy about.  I am blessed beyond measure for my relationship with JESUS CHRIST and that HE would even consider me to even be a servant of HIS!  

I am really blessed to have my wife as my "help meet" (Genesis 2:18) for nearly 30 years!   She has stuck by me "in the valley of the shadow of death" and never flinched!  GOD gave us two sons that I love with all of my heart, who married two women that are beautiful, Godly people!  

At the same time, everyone wishes they could have done better!   I missed opportunities to represent CHRIST in my life, I missed opportunities to be a better husband, I could have been a more caring, understanding Dad, I could have done a lot of things BETTER!

GOD uses everything in our lives to form us into vessels that HE can use for HIS glory!   Isaiah 45:6-7 says 

"That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.  I form the light, and create darkness: I MAKE PEACE, and CREATE EVILl: I the LORD do all these things."   

Scripture proclaims HE creates EVIL!   HE is Holy, yet HE created evil!  WHY?  GOD tells us that HIS ways are NOT our ways!   Isaiah 55:8-9 tells us "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."  

Heavenly Father, I pray that I will be just what YOU want me to be!   Even though I sometimes am clueless, I pray that I will be submissive to YOUR will in my life!  

IMPEACH!

This morning while looking at "my wall" on Facebook, I saw a post asking if I thought the president should be impeached. My first response a hateful "YES"!

While I do not support this President, nor his policies, I long for the day when Americans (me included) examined their own lives as much as we do others (our leaders included) lives and make appropriate changes! America will change when HEARTS begin to change, not when others change!

Scriptures record time after time that when people's hearts are changed is when societal changes occur. We may get irritated or upset with actions of individuals, but the only person I can change is ME! GOD can use my witness to influence others, but I am accountable for ONE PERSON! When I get "me" fixed, then I will move on!

Proverbs 26:2 says "Prove me, O LORD, and try me; test my heart and my mind." It doesn't say to prove OTHERS, to try OTHERS, to test OTHERS! I am responsible for ME!

GOD, help me to show more concern over my obedience and let YOU take care of others behavior!

"WAIT, I say, on the LORD!"

Please listen to these words!  "Verily, verily, I say unto you!" was the words JESUS used when HE was hear on earth!  Just as ISRAEL was made to wander in the wilderness for forty years because disobedience, we can 

RUN ourselves into a MESS if we don't wait on HIM!   

Psalms 27:14 (KJV) says "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."   The Psalmist was pretty plain spoken in this passage!   TWICE in one verse HE says to "WAIT"!   

A wise friend of mine told me something in 2011 that has stuck with me.   "We want to be MORE than GOD intended for us to be."  Whenever we try to do something OUTSIDE of GOD's timing, we are trying to accomplish things on "MY TERMS"!  I need to learn to "WAIT"!!

"THINGY"

Today, I have had this “THING” stuck in my throat and it is driving me crazy!  It may be a piece of sausage (Breakfast) or something I do not remember eating, but I cannot get it to quit bugging me!  I bought a soft drink and tried to wash it down, but it just won’t go away!

Then I got to thinking about it.  That is how it feels when there is some SIN that I have in my life!  I feel as though there is just something that is not right.  I cannot have the peace and joy that only CHRIST can bring with SIN in my life.  And like the thing in my throat, it will not let me alone until I get it out! 

Numbers 32:23 says “But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.”!  I have to remove all sin from my life or I will be hard to deal with. 

Now, to get this “THING” out of my throat!!!!
