"THEY HAVE REJECTED ME!"

1 Samuel 8:7                              (ESV)
"And the LORD said to Samuel, "Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but "THEY HAVE REJECTED ME" from being king over them."



America did not want a devout man of GOD to lead them, so they didn't support one when he campaigned.  There are some of the belief that a man of GOD was/is representative of the Spirit of ALMIGHTY GOD.  Regardless of whether you believe that or not, it reminds me of 1 Samuel 8 where GOD says in verse 7 "Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but "THEY HAVE REJECTED ME" from being king over them."

Israel wanted an earthly ruler, someone who could make decisions based on earthly matters.   Likewise America, as a whole, no longer accepts that the things of "this world" are far inferior to those of the Spiritual World, rather we place the things of "this world" in higher esteem than the things of the Spiritual World!  We devout Christians must see this rejection just as Samuel was instructed to see and accept it by the voice of GOD.  Although there were surely some Godly people in Israel as the time who could see the mistake being made by their fellow countrymen, GOD declared that if Israel wanted a king and no longer was willing to listen to the SPIRIT of GOD, HE would give them a king and the tyranny that came with being ruled by an earthly ruler.

It is difficult to be a part of the "Spiritually discerning" that SEE the path America has chosen.  But I'm sure the Believers in 1 Samuel 8 had rather their fellow countrymen not taken their eyes from GOD and HIS leadership!  They had to endure the years of consequences just like America will.  True Believers in the SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD will have to experience the

Making your way through the Wilderness with a Pillar of Cloud guiding you requires FAITH!  An earthly leader does not operate based on FAITH, therefore his rewards from living this way are limited to the things of "this world".  When we CHOOSE the things of "this world" AS OPPOSED TO THE THINGS OF GOD, we must remember what we are choosing!  Joshua 24:15 says "And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, CHOOSE THIS DAY WHOM YOU WILL SERVE, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD."
