Matthew 7:12-14 (ESV)
“12 "So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
13 "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.
14 For “THE GATE IS NARROW” and the WAY IS HARD that leads to life, and THOSE WHO FIND IT ARE FEW.”
The following statement was on a website where R.C. Sproul was paramount before his recent death. He said “The god of popular religion is not holy.” Mr. Sproul was not trivializing another religion, rather he was explaining that “THE GATE IS NARROW” and the WAY IS HARD and those who FIND IT ARE FEW!
- Just going to church will send many people to hell, and the preachers who are simply drawing a check and building a nest egg will answer to a HOLY GOD when THEY get to the Judgement! I’m not being judgmental, I’m just declaring TRUTH. Far too often so-called ministers only preach love, and that love is all that you need to enter Heaven. But our sin cost JESUS HIS life on Calvary so HE could be a propitiation for my unrighteousness!
Living for HIM IS HARD! JESUS said it, plain and simple. To hear “the god of popular religion is not holy” automatically disqualifies this false god from being GOD ALMIGHTY! Leviticus 19:2 says “"Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them, YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I THE LORD YOUR GOD AM HOLY!” Yes, GOD SO LOVED that HE gave HIS only SON, WHO WAS HOLY! Even though, like the Apostle Paul, I feel I am the chief of sinners (1 Timothy 1:15),have a deep desire to live a Godly life for HIS Glory!
Please, let’s tell folks that “the god of popular religion is not holy” and we must leave some friends AND LOVED ONES behind to follow JESUS. It’s not being judgmental to declare what thus saith the LORD, it is living HOLY.....where “THE GATE IS NARROW”!!!
LORD, cause me to live an example of a loving follower of CHRIST, but also one that IS HOLY, FOR YOU ARE HOLY!!!
