“WE ARE AT HOME!”

2 Corinthians 5:5-10                    (ESV)
“5 HE (GOD) who has prepared us for this very thing is GOD, WHO has given us the SPIRIT as a guarantee.
6 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the LORD,
7 for we walk by faith, not by sight.
8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the LORD.
9 So whether “WE ARE AT HOME” or away, we make it our aim to please HIM.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of CHRIST, so that each one may receive what is due for what HE has done in the body, whether good or evil.”

Social media gives the opportunity to remember those who have preceded us into their eternal reward.  What we don’t want to do is live in the past “wishing” they were back in “this world” just to help us out! The Apostle Paul writes in the scripture above that GOD HIMSELF has prepared us to deal with separation by giving “us the SPIRIT as a guarantee”.  As a matter of fact, he also writes “we would rather be away from the body and at home with the LORD”.   However, most people nowadays talk like when a loved one leaves their earthly body that they are gone where we are not going to see them again!

Oh, we “say” that we will see them again someday, but most don’t live it in our everyday lives.   It’s true, even I have wept over loved ones who have finished their race before me, but when I realize that bringing them back to earth would have them leaving Heaven, it causes me to rethink my sorrow.  The BIBLE states in 1 Corinthians 2:9 “....What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what GOD has prepared for those who love HIM".  Why would I want to be so “selfish” to want people I love to suffer more with me, when they are receiving their promises from GOD?

Speaking for myself, I can’t imagine finally making it to Heaven and then finding out my journey in this “foreign land” wasn’t completed?  When “WE ARE AT HOME” we can rest and relax, not worrying about the cares of “this world”.  We should REJOICE that we are no longer “...in this tent (mortal body) WE GROAN, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling” (Heavenly body)(2 Corinthians 5:2)!  Our loved ones have “finished the race” (2 Timothy 4:7), now it is our turn to finish our race.  One day soon we will ALL be able say “WE ARE AT HOME” and celebrate with JESUS!!!!
