“HE WHO SENT ME!”

John 7:32-36                                 (ESV)

"32 The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about HIM, and the chief priests and Pharisees sent officers to arrest HIM.

33 JESUS then said, "I will be with you a little longer, and then I am going to "HIM WHO SENT ME".

34 You will seek ME and you will not find ME. Where I am you cannot come."

35 The Jews said to one another, "Where does this MAN intend to go that we will not find HIM? Does HE intend to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks?

36 What does he mean by saying, 'You will seek ME and you will not find ME,' and, 'Where I am you cannot come'?""

Observing the majestically orchestrated "send-off" of the 41st President of the United States was something to admire.  George Herbert Walker Bush will be remembered by some as a great President, and by some as an inept President.  Some won't even care.  As for me, I hardly watched any of the services because of work demands on my time.  But he was an honorable President who served his country well, and should be remembered as such.  

How do you want to be remembered?  We ALL are going to die, unless the LORD raptures us out of here.  So how do you want people to remember you when your body is void of its Spirit?  

Today or tonight could be the day or night that you, or I, or any number of people we know, has to face eternity.  If it is me, let me say I don't want people telling about me at a memorial service.  If they did, it would probably be all bad anyway!  My desire is to magnify and glorify JESUS as my final act on planet earth.  

Sure, I want to be a loving and caring husband, a respected and loved father, and of course a cherished "pops", but when I am gone from here I want THE LORD to be talked about when people are remembering me.  JESUS was about to be joined with "HIM WHO SENT ME", and HE wanted those left behind that HE KNEW WHERE HE WAS GOING!  "HE WHO SENT ME" is GOD ALMIGHTY and JESUS had been with HIM from the beginning (John 1:2) and HE knew HIS task was nearing its competition.  

"This world" clamors to magnify anyone and anything EXCEPT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.  That is why any memorial service I have needs to be centered on CHRIST, for I no longer am of "this world"!  "HE WHO SENT ME" deserves praise and adoration, not this corruptible man.  When my time on earth is has ended, please let it be known that I have gone to "HE WHO SENT ME!!!"
