1 Thessalonians 2:13-16 (ESV)
“13 And we also thank GOD constantly for this, that when you received “THE WORD OF GOD”, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, “THE WORD OF GOD”, which is at work in you Believers.
14 For you, brothers, became IMITATORS of the churches of GOD in CHRIST JESUS that are in Judea. For you suffered the same things from your own countrymen as they did from the Jews,
15 who killed both the LORD JESUS and the prophets, and drove us out, and DISPLEASE GOD and oppose all mankind
16 by hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles that they might be saved-so as always to fill up the measure of their sins. BUT WRATH HAS COME UPON THEM AT LAST!”

This post was on a Social Media site recently, and it caused me to ponder exactly what I was doing looking at Social Media when the HOLY SCRIPTURES were available to me to be reading? Why do we prefer hearing about, keeping up with, simply knowing what is going on with “this world” when “THE WORD OF GOD” is literally at our fingertips BEGGING us to venture into it, allowing our lives to be molded into what HE desires us to be?
Truly, this is a devotional designed out of conviction and guidance for me, not a tutorial for others! It is so very easy to identify the faults of others while basically turning a blind eye to the area lacking my own life. Am I a TRUE IMITATOR of the churches of GOD (v14), or do I simply preach about others sins instead of getting “the log out of your own eye” (Matthew 7:5)!!! GOD HELP ME!!!
There is no need for further discussion about the subject at hand until my closet is cleaned! There is hope, for even me, as I continue maturing my seeds into a plant that will Glorify and honor the LORD JESUS CHRIST. “THE WORD OF GOD”, which is at work in you Believers” has a LOT OF WORK to do in me!!!
