“DO NOT BE ANXIOUS!”

 Matthew 6:25-33                     (ESV)

“DO NOT BE ANXIOUS”

[25] “”Therefore I tell you, “DO NOT BE ANXIOUS” about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? [26] Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your HEAVENLY FATHER feeds them. ARE YOU NOT MORE VALUE THAN THEY? [27] And which of you by being ANXIOUS can add a single hour to his span of life? [28] And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, [29] yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. [30] But if GOD so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will HE not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? [31] Therefore “DO NOT BE ANXIOUS”, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ [32] For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your HEAVENLY FATHER knows that you need them all. [33] But SEEK FIRST the KINGDOM OF GOD and HIS righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Speaking as a Brain Hemorrhage survivor puts me in a category that most will never experience.  The fact that I have recovered so fully and completely is best stated in my medical records of September 2007 when my physician stated “The fact that he has recovered the way he has is nothing short of a MIRACLE FROM GOD"!  Since I HAVE this “recovery” as an almost constant reminder of HIS GRACE, HOW am I EVER questioning HIS interest in HIS future PLAN for my life???  

If anyone should have CONFIDENCE in THE LORDS abilities to “make a way”, it should be me!  But I have to confess that I am mortal, needing a constant reminder that HE IS ABLE and I AM NOT!!!  Even though my life has PROVEN HIS GRACE many times over, I still want to have knowledge of THE PLAN has in store for me!  Isaiah 42:5 says “THUS SAYS GOD, the LORD, WHO created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, WHO GIVES BREATH TO THE PEOPLE ON IT and Spirit to those who walk in it:”. When will my EYES be OPENED and FAITH be displayed into a life that has been BLESSED as graciously as mine to the point that I TRUST HIM completely???

“DO NOT BE ANXIOUS” SHOULD be etched GREATLY into my heart and mind as I walk through my life on earth!  GOD wants me (us) to TRUST HIM, but I (we) want to be able to SEE the way before taking a step!  I NEED to “DO NOT BE ANXIOUS” about how HE is going to do what HE says HE will do and display FAITH that HE WILL DO precisely what HE SAYS HE WILL DO!!!
