“FRIENDSHIP WITH THE WORLD!”

James 4:4-6                                                     (ESV)

“4 You ADULTEROUS people! Do you not know that “FRIENDSHIP WITH THE WORLD” is enmity with GOD? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of GOD.

5 Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, "HE yearns jealously over the Spirit that HE has made to dwell in us"?

6 But HE GIVES MORE GRACE. Therefore it says, "GOD opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." 

There is no denying that Scripture says that human beings ARE A SINFUL CREATION!  King David, a man after GOD’S own heart, says in Psalms 51:5 “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.”  His mother wasn’t committing sin when he was conceived, but our Spiritual DNA is “infected” by sin.  We are born with a terminal disease.  We ALL NEED JESUS to transform our lives!  

Why do we try to acclimate our behavior to not be offensive to “this world”, when we are the bride of JESUS?  “FRIENDSHIP WITH THE WORLD” is very indicative of whether we are truly BORN AGAIN.  If we say that we are “not that bad”, we might not have had our EYES OPENED to SEE ourselves as GOD SEES our “natural” beings?  JESUS HIMSELF says “..you will be hated by all for my name's sake.” (Matthew 10:22; Mark 13:13; Luke 21:17)!  

You cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24), trying to do so will only bring you heartache and grief.  You can “turn over a new leaf”, join every church on the planet, even give your life for others, but unless you admit that JESUS is the only way, you will remain in “FRIENDSHIP WITH THE WORLD”, headed into eternity with NO HOPE!

The only way we can have our “old self” TRANSFORMED into a “new man” is to allow JESUS CHRIST to supernaturally regenerate us.  Being in “FRIENDSHIP WITH THE WORLD” might be the “easy” thing to do, but it makes you an enemy of GOD, opposed to HIS Principles.  GOD IS going to judge “this world” (Joel 3:1-3; Isaiah 66).  It isn’t that HE “may” judge it.  If you are at “FRIENDSHIP WITH THE WORLD”, you are at enmity with GOD!    Is that what you want???
