“FEW ARE CHOSEN!”

Matthew 22:1-14                                                    (ESV)
“1 And again JESUS spoke to them in parables, saying,
2 "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son,
3 and sent his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come.
4 Again he sent other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast."'
5 But they paid no attention and went off, one to his farm, another to his business,
6 while the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them.
7 THE KING WAS ANGRY, and he sent his troops and DESTROYED THOSE MURDERERS and BURNED THEIR CITY.
8 Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy.
9 Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding feast as many as you find.'
10 And those servants went out into the roads and gathered all whom they found, BOTH BAD AND GOOD. So the wedding hall was filled with guests.
11 "But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had NO WEDDING GARMENT.
12 And he said to him, 'Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?' And HE WAS SPEECHLESS.
13 Then the king said to the attendants, 'Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
14 For many are called, but “FEW ARE CHOSEN”."

JESUS had a knack for using parables to get a point across to people, sometimes even HIS disciples!  HEARING HIS message and SEEING HIS point is a GIFT from GOD.  In John 12:40 the passage of Isaiah 6:10 is referred to which says “Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; LEST THEY SEE with their eyes, AND HEAR with their ears, AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEARTS, and TURN AND BE HEALED."

Not everyone has the UNDERSTANDING to accept the THINGS OF GOD.  The people that JESUS spoke of in Matthew 22:1-14 were some of such people.  As a matter of fact, JESUS says in verse seven “THE KING WAS ANGRY, and he sent his troops and DESTROYED THOSE MURDERERS and BURNED THEIR CITY”.  It appears that these people were so caught up in “doing their own thing” that they could not SEE, nor HEAR, nor UNDERSTAND what their invitation was all about.  Life was moving so fast for them that the WORD OF GOD wasn’t allowed the opportunity to take root and bring forth fruit!

It is apparent that is the case in today’s society.  We are so engrossed with keeping up with the so-called “demands” of “this world” that we can’t allow GOD to grow us into that which Glorifies HIM.  JESUS warned us through this parable that would cost us one day.  The WRATH OF GOD will be unleashed on this world and HE will send HIS troops to “DESTROY THOSE MURDERERS and BURN THEIR CITY”.

This “time of disengagement” from a tiny virus may have a purpose which is not easily SEEN, nor HEARD, nor UNDERSTOOD by those who refuse to do things BY THE BOOK, otherwise known as the HOLY BIBLE!  Before July 09, 2007 I was just as guilty as the next person, trying to do what I THOUGHT was best.  GOD used a Brain Hemorrhage to slow my life down and get me in a position to SEE, HEAR, and UNDERSTAND HIS Message.

“Many are called, but “FEW ARE CHOSEN” is not a slogan for a branch of the military.  There are a very limited people who are CHOSEN to be used by GOD.  Are you one of those, or are you one of the many who will be BURNED IN THEIR CITY?  The “FEW ARE CHOSEN” are set aside by a HOLY GOD to be different.  Which group do you identify with???
