“DO YOU NOT KNOW?”

1 Corinthians 6:9-20                              (ESV)

“9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of GOD? Do not be deceived: neither the SEXUALLY IMMORAL, nor IDOLATERS, nor ADULTERERS, nor men WHO PRACTICE HOMOSEXUALITY,

10 nor THIEVES, nor the GREEDY, nor DRUNKARDS, nor REVILERS, nor SWINDLERS will inherit the kingdom of GOD.

11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the NAME of the LORD JESUS CHRIST and by the SPIRIT of our GOD.

12 "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be dominated by anything.

13 "Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food"-and GOD will destroy both one and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

14 And GOD raised the LORD and will also raise us up by HIS power.

15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of CHRIST? Shall I then take the members of CHRIST and make them members of a prostitute? NEVER!

16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, "The two will become one flesh."

17 But he who is joined to the LORD becomes ONE SPIRIT with HIM.

18 FLEE from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.

19 Or “DO YOU NOT KNOW” that your body is a temple of the HOLY SPIRIT within you, whom you have from GOD? You are not your own,

20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify GOD in your body.”

To admit that I am not a legal scholar should not be surprising to anyone who knows me.  The recent Supreme Court ruling that people of the “LGBTQ” persuasion could not be discriminated against in the workplace is a huge win for those who are in said lifestyles.  There is no place for “hate” for these people. They choose to live a life that Scripture says they will not inherit the Kingdom of GOD!

But they are not alone!  Anyone who tries to enter Heaven on their own merits is guilty of rejecting the Sacrifice of JESUS, and thusly will hear DEPART, I NEVER KNEW YOU on Judgement Day!  The church has a responsibility, however uncomfortable it may be, to alert people to the consequences of their choices.   

Some people might not know that I experienced Aspartame Poisoning in 2011 or 2012.  For awhile I was very vocal about those who chose to pour this sweetener into their bodies when it was reportedly discovered by tasting spilled wood preservative!  Aspartame doesn’t have the effects on everyone, BUT SIN DOES!  Unless a person allows JESUS to transform their life they will NOT enter the Kingdom of GOD!  A person who truly loves you will never allow you to drive over a cliff without alerting you of the danger ahead.  

The notion that Believers are judging others because of their actions could not be further from the TRUTH!  JESUS says in Matthew 7:15-20 that we will KNOW them BY THEIR FRUITS!  Since I have been BORN AGAIN, do I always exhibit CHRISTLIKE characteristics?  I am sorry to say that I cannot answer that in the affirmative?  But I will continue to show LOVE in that I will alert those who are unaware that the proverbial cliff is ahead.  “DO YOU NOT KNOW” that GOD cannot fellowship with sin?  My only HOPE is that the Promise of JESUS to propitiate (implies averting anger or malevolence especially of a superior being) HIS LIFE for my worthless life will SAVE me from Judgement?  “DO YOU NOT KNOW” that HE can do the same for you???
