"CHOOSING??"

Matthew 25:35-40                       (NASB)
"35‘For I was hungry, and you gave ME something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave ME something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited ME in; 36 naked, and you clothed ME; I was sick, and you visited ME; I was in prison, and you came to ME.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer HIM, ‘LORD, when did we see YOU hungry, and feed YOU, or thirsty, and give YOU something to drink? 38 ‘And when did we see YOU a stranger, and invite YOU in, or naked, and clothe YOU? 39 ‘When did we see YOU sick, or in prison, and come to YOU?’ 40 “The KING will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of MINE, even the least of them, you did it to ME."




When JESUS came to earth, HE came to change hearts, not governments!  JESUS wasn't crucified on Calvary's tree for "Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female", HE was sacrificed me individual's LIKE ME!  When we "surrender" to HIM, HIS SPIRIT moves into our bodies to grow us into vessels that glorify THE FATHER.

According to a cursory Internet search, the United States government has spent 22 TRILLION dollars in the so called "War on Poverty"!  One article says it quite succinctly when it says "That was $22 trillion ago. That’s right, trillion with a “t.” A 22 with 12 zeros behind it. To understand how much that is, if you laid a trillion $1 bills end to end, they would reach the sun. Now multiply that by 22. That’s enough for 11 round trips."  So Big Government has tried their best ($22 TRILLION worth!) to be what GOD instructed us to INDIVIDUALLY do, and it has been a colossal failure!  I find it interesting that our national debt is almost $19 Trillion and our government has spent $22 Trillion in an attempt to be a replacement for what GOD intended individual's hearts to become!

JESUS lives in me and desires me to live my life FOR HIM.  HE isn't glorified when the government mandates that its citizenry help the poor and needy!  As a matter of fact, when a government attempts to force people to be benevolent it usually causes strife and discontent.  Following GOD brings joy and peace (Romans 15:13).  Allowing our government to impose godlike mandates brings strife and discontent.  When believers allow godlike individuals to govern them, the godlike begin acting as though there actually are gods with their edicts!

We all must make CHOICES in our lives.  We can "CHOOSE" GOD'S WAY, or we can "CHOOSE" to allow men to try their way!  The Holy Bible is replete many examples of men trying their way, and none of their ways prove successful!  Joshua 24:15 says “If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, CHOOSE for yourselves today WHOM YOU WILL SERVE: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD!"  We can "CHOOSE" to follow GOD'S WORD or we can "CHOOSE" to follow men's edits!  I prefer GOD'S FAVOR as opposed to GOD'S Judgement!  But that's just me!!!
