Habakkuk 2:2-3 (ESV)
"2 And the LORD answered me: "Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.
3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end-it will not lie. If it seems slow, "WAIT FOR IT"; it will surely come; it will not delay."
"This world" is operating at a pace of its own making. We desire to operate at a faster pace, seemingly no matter the cost! The temptation to "do something, even if it's wrong" seems to permeate the actions of mankind more and more the aged I become. What ever happened to "WAIT FOR IT" being taught to our youth by the ones who are tasked with teaching them?
Evidence of society hearing from "the LORD" has decreased greatly in my adult life. It seems we desire to arrive first at where we are going, but we aren't sure where it is we are headed? No one has bothered checking with the Creator to see if our chosen path fits into His Plan. As long as we finish the race first then we can make adjustments at, or beyond, the finish line.
GOD's Plan doesn't call for us to finish the race in first place. For us to have a personal relationship with HIM is what HE desires. Habakkuk 2:3 says "For still the vision awaits its APPOINTED time; it hastens to the end-it will not lie. If it seems slow, "WAIT FOR IT"; it will surely come; it will not delay." "The vision awaits its APPOINTED time" doesn't indicate we should try to make tomorrow's happenings occur today. GOD is promising if we "WAIT FOR IT", it will surely come! And when it comes on GOD's timetable we see it as being a blessing from HIM!
Playing god and trying to make things happen in my own timing has always been a glaring fault in my life. When we try to make good things happen outside of GOD's Plan (timing), we show a tendency to deflect HIS glory onto ourselves! GOD has HIS own unique ways of speaking to us, and HE can get our attention!! We are here to glorify GOD, not to live this life in comfort and convenience.
HEAVENLY FATHER, cause me to "WAIT FOR IT" in my life, to not try to make "good things" happen in my timing. My desire is to glorify YOU in all I do!!!
