"GET IT, or DIDN'T GET IT!"

"And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. "


With all of the modern day talk regarding guns, drugs, gang violence, and numerous other "tools" used to end a earthly life, nobody seems to want to talk about the root cause of the matter.  Cain slew Abel simply because GOD "preferred" Abel's offering over Cain's.  Cain offered GOD "of the fruit of the ground".  Abel offered GOD "of the FIRSTLINGS of his flock and of the fat thereof".

Cain's heart was to give GOD what was leftover from his blessings.  Abel's heart was to give GOD from the "firstlings", or from initial blessings, of his blessings. GOD sees our "hearts" (1 Samuel 16:7).  GOD doesn't play games, as JESUS as much as said in Matthew 7:22-23 "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

Just as Cain's offering was unacceptable to GOD, any offering that man selects "his best" will not please a Holy GOD.  HE requires our ALL WE HAVE, and then HE can bless us properly.  THAT is FAITH in GOD!  Giving HIM and being dependent upon HIM to sustain us!

Abel "got it", Cain didn't "get it"!  Rather than change to "get it" Cain decided to eliminate the source of the good gift so his unacceptable gift would compare favorably.  But GOD doesn't change and regardless of what people say HIS acceptance isn't based on what man's concepts are.

May I "get it" and give what GOD requires of me, not what I think is BEST of the leftovers!!!
