"I HAVE NOT COME TO BRING PEACE!"

Matthew 10:34-39                           (ESV)

"34 "Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. "I HAVE NOT COME TO BRING PEACE", but a sword.

35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

36 And a person's enemies will be those of his own household.

37 Whoever loves father or mother more than ME is not worthy of ME, and whoever loves son or daughter more than ME is not worthy of ME.

38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow ME is not worthy of ME.

39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for MY sake will find it."

In John 10:30 JESUS says "I and the FATHER are ONE"!  In 1 John 4:8 scripture points out that "Anyone who does not love does not know GOD, because GOD is love."  Then in 1 Corinthians 14:33 it is written "For GOD is not a GOD of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,".  And again in Ephesians 2:14 that "For HE HIMSELF is our peace, WHO has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility."?

So why did JESUS say in Matthew 10:34 "Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth."?  Why would JESUS (GOD IN THE FLESH) say that HE came to earth with a sword?  That is unless HE was expecting to be in a battle for the hearts and Spirits of we who Believed in HIM and HIS Kingdom?  After all, HE did say in John 18:36 while being questioned by Pilate, "JESUS answered, "MY kingdom is not of this world. If MY kingdom were of this world, MY servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But MY KINGDOM IS NOT FROM THE WORLD"!  

JESUS does bring peace, but you won't experience HIS peace trusting in worldly possessions, or from anything that the enemy is peddling!  True peace comes from trusting in HIM and HIS Kingdom, which is to come.  JESUS came to separate HIS children from "this world", to instruct us on how to HE DIFFERENT!  HE didn't come to earth to teach us on how to get along with the enemy, rather on how to OVERCOME the enemy!!

Don't let those who are for getting along with "this world" influence you on how to live your life!  JESUS CHRIST said "I HAVE NOT COME TO BRING PEACE"!  HE was crucified because HE would NOT follow the lead of "this world"!  Don't try to do the impossible!  JESUS said ""No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other...." (Matthew 6:24)!  You can choose to get along with the enemy, or you can choose PEACE!!!
