"I AM GOD!"

Isaiah 46:3-9                                  (ESV)
"3 "Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been borne by ME from before your birth, carried from the womb;
4 even to your old age I AM HE, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.
5 "To whom will you liken ME and make ME equal, and compare ME, that we may be alike?
6 Those who lavish gold from the purse, and weigh out silver in the scales, hire a goldsmith, and he makes it into a god; then they fall down and worship!
7 They lift it to their shoulders, they carry it, they set it in its place, and it stands there; it cannot move from its place. If one cries to it, it does not answer or save him from his trouble.
8 "Remember this and stand firm, recall it to mind, you transgressors,
9 remember the former things of old; for "I AM GOD", and there is no other; "I AM GOD", and there is none like ME"



It is quite easy to lose sight of the things that REALLY matter in life in "this world".  We get caught up in paying the bills and doing what we can to secure our future, when our future is in the hands of the CREATOR.  And yet we don't take time to BE STILL, AND KNOW HE IS GOD usually more than once a week on Sunday morning where the members of our local church tend to agree with us!  How long has it been since I took a stand when there was no support system around and the message of JESUS CHRIST was only going to be forwarded through me speaking HIS message?

In the passage of scripture above GOD is telling Israel (and all who read HIS word) to LISTEN TO ME!  Normally we don't have time to listen to HIM when we pray.  We seem to forget that the "old man", our physical bodies, are only but a vapor (James 4:14) and our Spiritual man will be all that matters when that vapor has vanished!

We are Created in HIS image (Genesis 1:27) and John 4:24 states "GOD IS SPIRIT"!  Since we are Created in HIS image and HE IS SPIRIT, then basically our eternal being is HIS Spirit living within us.  That is, those of us who have surrendered to HIS Spirit and allowed the Creator of the Universe to lead and guide our lives.  "I AM GOD" lives within my body, and I am honored to serve HIM daily.

Today, "this world" operates under the premise that "I AM GOD" is a myth and the earth, planets, stars and galaxies just appeared from a Big Bang?  Romans 8:11 says "If the SPIRIT of HIM who raised JESUS from the dead ("I AM GOD") dwells in you, HE who raised CHRIST JESUS from the dead ("I AM GOD") will also give life to your mortal bodies through HIS SPIRIT who dwells in you."  Having "I AM GOD" living in me should give me all kinds of assurance that I am a conqueror!  Wouldn't you like to have "I AM GOD" living in you???
