Whatever you think about him, Barack Hussein Obama states to CBS in June 2007 “Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation — at least, not just. We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.” Obama was elected President of the United States on January 20, 2009. America should have known, HAD THEY PROPERLY VETTED Barack Hussein Obama, what his beliefs were all about.
The first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States was John Jay. Below is what one author wrote about John Jay:
John Jay, one of the framers of the Constitution, was appointed by George Washington in 1789 to be the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (and later served two terms as governor of New York).
He wrote, in a private letter (1816) to Pennsylvania House of Representatives member John Murray:
It certainly is very desirable that a pacific disposition should prevail among all nations. The most effectual way of producing it is by extending the prevalence and influence of the gospel. Real Christians will abstain from violating the rights of others, and therefore will not provoke war.
Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.
Whether the United States of America has transformed itself over two and a half centuries from a Christian nation can be debated, but there seems to be little doubt in my mind what the First Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and framer of the Constitution, thought about Christian beliefs and leaders!
Properly vetting the men who would lead our nation is not only suggested by scripture, it is required by scripture! GOD will answer IF WE LISTEN FOR GUIDANCE (Isaiah 65:24)! But James 1:22 says "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves". We can't just pray then do what we want. We must DO WHAT THE SPIRIT OF GOD is telling us!
Seeking GODLY LEADERS, "MEN WHO FEAR GOD", demands more than hearing something we like when they speak, or who is the best looking, or has the largest banking portfolio! GOD selected a shepherd boy to be one of the most revered Kings of Israel. HE selected a stuttering sheep herder to lead HIS children out of captivity. HE may have a leader for America chosen already, but are we looking for "MEN WHO FEAR GOD"???
