"Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep."
I was trying to make my devotional come from Galatians 3 this morning. While researching those scriptures I had occasion to visit my English Standard Version of the Bible. My last reading of it was Psalms 127:1. While reading that, I was captivated by what and how it was said. "Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep."
There is NOTHING that compares with a good nights sleep! Right after the brain hemorrhage experience that GOD brought me through, I would require 13-14 hours a night sleep. To wake refreshed with "no worries" is one of the greatest feelings in life. I had no worries because my brain couldn't process worry........yet!
It is as if GOD is telling me thatHE "gives" me rest. Why do I " eat the bread of anxious toil"? GOD has my life planned out (Jer 29:11) so I should just chill out and trust in HIM! Psalms 37:7 says " Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass."
LORD, it is my desire to live my life according to YOUR plan for me! The world can say whatever they chose, it is YOUR ways I seek!
