Turn not the the right or left!

Joshua 1:6-8. (KJV) "Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest OBSERVE to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: TURN NOT from it to the RIGHT hand or to the LEFT, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall NOT depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt MEDITATE therein DAY and NIGHT, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for THEN thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and THEN thou shalt have good success. My Sunday School teacher repeated a question heard on a conservative television show recently. "What is currently the biggest challenge facing the United States of America"? My mind immediately went to the scripture above. How can our so-called intelligent leaders of our nation think that they can run to GOD, as they all did on September 12, 2001 on the steps of our capital, and NEVER think of HIM again? How can the USA even think of expecting GOD's divine protection when we lavish praise and acceptance on homosexuality, use government funds to pay for brutal and senseless murder of babies in the womb, give billions of taxpayer dollars to support regimes that support false religions, and on and on? GOD's command was to observe HIS word both day and night, not to veer to the left or right, THEN our way would be prosperous and we would have good success. How have we, even half-heartily, lived up to our end of the deal? The only thing left for me to do is go to a HOLY GOD begging for mercy and praying for forgiveness. I have no excuse or reason for allowing my government to ignore GOD or HIS principles. I say "my" government because that is how the founders set this thing up! The so-called "LEADERS" (Senators and Representatives) work for us. Think about that, they "work for us". They are "representing" our views to the world! When we send an ambassador to a foreign country and he/she doesn't do what he/she is told to do, he is recalled and replaced. My belief is that it is past time to have GODLY views represented by those who "represent" my views to the world. I don't support Democrats or Republicans or Independents if they are "turn(ing) not from it to the right hand or to the left"! We have let the "intelligent" lead us for way too long, and all they have gotten us is debt, immorality, crime, corruption, and a basic disregard for GOD and HIS ways. In the Sixth chapter of Genesis GOD says that HIS Spirit will not always strive with man. I am praying the United States has not ignored HIM too long!!
