"Walk in the SPIRIT"!

Genesis 3:1-7   (KJV)
"Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?  And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:  But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:  For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.  And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons."

Since Adam and Eve first thought "they" had a better plan than GOD, sin has been a part of our lives.  Eve saw the fruit was "good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise", THEN she ate, as did Adam.

My tendencies are to try and tell GOD what I feel is the "best way" to handle things.  When I do this,  I am  doing the same thing that got Adam and Eve in trouble?  They were told by the serpent that they would be "as gods" knowing good from evil.  Instead, they "died" spiritually and "sin" entered the world.

GOD had told them "Ye shall NOT" eat!  HE gave those instructions IN LOVE.  Likewise, GOD tells me the same. HE tells me not to travel a certain path, yet I choose to try it anyway!  If I would do as directed in Galatians 5:16, I wouldn't have these problems.  "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh."  GOD is trying to tell me, just as HE did Adam and Eve, to TRUST HIM to lead and guide me!

I pray that I will "Walk in the Spirit" more and trust in HIM for the "best way"!
