"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
It appears our culture is headed toward blaming anyone and everyone for our problems. "OUR" problems! No one else is to blame for mentality of letting someone else take care of you. The Apostle Paul stated it clearly when in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 he said "For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat."
Today, everyone has a reason for their unsuccessful lifestyles. It is way past-time someone not only preach, but LIVE, that GOD is our MAKER and SUSTAINER and our blessings come from HIM! James 1:17 says "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from ABOVE, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." Keep in mind, we are to help those in need, but a difference lies in those who can't and those who won't!
We need to retrain our focus on our OWN lives. 2 Chronicles 7:14 begins with "IF MY PEOPLE"! It doesn't say "If the rest of the world"! We are the one's who need to evaluate and correct our OWN lifestyles and behavior.
"SHALL HUMBLE THEMSELVES" is a monstrous task! GOD has a way of humbling you beyond your wildest imaginations. But, the scripture is asking us to HUMBLE ourselves. When we realize and live that our views are not nearly as important as once believed, the battle is becoming winnable.
"SEEK HIS FACE" and "TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS" are not options for self improvement! IF we seek HIM and TURN, HE declares HE will hear from Heaven and "heal" our land.
GOD is not looking for the biggest, grandest church buildings. HE is not looking for the best song service or the sermon with the best title. GOD is looking for INDIVIDUAL hearts that are willing to be changed ready to "LIVE" for and through "HIM"!
Let me say that again.....GOD is looking for INDIVIDUAL hearts...... that are willing to be changed......and ready to "LIVE" for and through "HIM"!
